P.P.S. Thank God for this achievement of Russian team!
Thanks for the analysis, it is interesting to see the actual differences between the different forks. There will always be some differences, but they were balanced as well as we could while keeping the orienteering reasonable. It is worth saying that in both the men's and women's courses some of the forks were linked to further balance things. In the women's course those who had the longer fork at 45/69 had the shorter one at 78/55.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a splendid team performance.

Hello Dave! Thanks for your comment!
DeleteIn my opinion course was really good and differences between forkings was acceptable. You used few artificial fences but (instead of crazy WOC-2013 and World Cup event 2014 in Finland) there were no traps for runners or labyrinths in Nairn. Also I have to note that final part on the last leg was unforked - this gives chance to eliminate some variations early at the course. Most unfair thing is to have long forking just few hundreds meters before the finish line. But fortunately we did not see it in Nairn! Thanks for your job!
